Crewing manager

We are looking for a Crewing manager for our client.

Company Overview: They are a fast-growing shipping organisation, with headquarters in Dubai and offices in Europe and Asia. We are engaged in transportation of crude and petroleum products.
The company opens a new office in St. Petersburg.

Job responsibilities:

The Crew Manager is responsible for the overall operations and marine personnel matters related to the employment of sea staff for the fleet and the day-to-day operation of the Crewing Department.

The Company's Crewing Department is dedicated to the employment of Sea Staff, which includes:

Recruitment and Selection

• Screen candidates for seafarer positions
• Interview and select new staff for employment
• Maintain records of all officers and crew

Crew Management

• Maintain up-to-date crew lists and personal particulars of those onboard
• Ensure crew training requirements are provided
• Assist in coordination the signing on/off and repatriation of crew members
• Liaise with shore management, agents, unions, and national authorities on crewing matters
• Serve as the point of contact for all crewing-related issues, such as wages and other employment conditions

Candidate Screening Process

1. Screen the candidate's profile, including:
   • Resume (CV)
   • Qualifications
   • Experience
   • Compliance with the vessel's Crew Matrix
2. Confirm the validity of the data presented
3. Ensure the candidate has experience with the type and size of vessel, including the type of machinery for the engineer rank
4. Complete a computer-based English and proficiency test for all required officers, accepting only those who score at least 80% of the total score
5. Conduct an internal interview of the candidate by the responsible Superintendent of the Vessel
6. Complete a 'Competency Interview Checklist' to assess the candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities
