Install and support United Nations telecoms networks based on HF and VHF radios. IT support to UNDSS office and UN Radio Rooms. Ensure optimal radio network operations, through the implementation of standard operating procedures and the provision of guidelines and training to local radio operators in the region of assignment; Ensure appropriate telecommunications support to UN staff and provide support to critical inter agency telecommunication hubs; Train staff on radio communications procedures including related Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) requirements and use of HF/VHF and other communications equipment. Evaluate existing telecoms infrastructures in the target regions by assessing its strengths and weaknesses, be it hardware, software, support structure or funding. Make recommendations to local management on the staffing and skills levels required to support an telecoms support infrastructure
